Do Malaysians Think Like this?

I was browsing through NYTimes.com and a very interesting and thought provoking article captured my attention.
Written by Steven D Levitt, in the Opinion page under Freakonomics, the title of the article is
'The Economics Of Gold-Digging'.
Read here

Do we Malaysians think like this, women or men. I would love to hear your take on this.

I know some gorgeous women who worked towards the ideal package, missed not only the luxury liner but have even been left behind by the lowly sampan.Cant have your cake and eat it? Love is not an economic commodity. The economist in the article is an chauvinistic prick but he is a practical prick. What do you want? The choice is there. Its a free market but a very cruel market-place.

Thanks for your thought Zorro. From what i gather, it was a trade. And being so, the economist made sense. If you live by the sword, you die by the sword. And you're absolutely right sir, It's a free market and a very cruel market-place. Don't play the game if you're not playing to win.

maybe all the good guys are dead or hanging out in npc !
But seriously tony, it is real...and to be pratical, she's asking for more than she can chew...to put those conditions...she's ambitious but life is not for being always on time, well planned and cash dictated. Life is to live...yes, you may not agree with me but we all aim for the sky, yes...but let us not be bitter if we can only get our heads in the clouds, sometimes ! ok ?
good post and deep man. but just direct her to the club lah, we'll have a great party ok ?
Cheers !

Shanghai,
Like I said, its a trade. She's got something some people want. Some people want, some don't. If she's serious about what she wants, she has to kiss lots of frogs to finally find her prince. Would you fault her for trying?

she could get alot of dates, make them cough up all the luxuries that she want (with her classy, intelligent, good looking quality), but for someone who's looking for marriage..her 'honesty' about a man's earning abilities is enough to scare guys far away from her.

n if one day she decided to divorce..the guy will hv to split half of his assets with her! not a good deal when u think of that.

I remember Barbara Walters in the talk show "The View" mentioned that her grandmother once told her, "if u want to marry in richess, mix around with the rich but marry for love, then u will hv the best of both world"

Thanks Winnie for your comments.
To my understanding, she has put out her credentials and those who want to apply must have her pre-requisites. On the other hand , the economist is a trader. He is looking for the best deal.

Tony, tht girl can ask for whtever she wants but to me, whoever took up the offer (if anybody did) is the stupid one.
as for me, i chose someone whom i love to see his face every morning lying next to me rather than having lotsa money and looks like donald trump. thts why i married my husband! ;)

donald trump should get a new hairdo!

Your worth is what is perceived by others and not by your own. If she perceives herself to be that worthy, she must know where to trade to get the best deal. Trading on NYSE will of course mean a better global exposure compared to trading herself on KLSE.
From my perception she is only worth peanuts despite of all her claims because her greatest asset (the brain) is too small.

tony,

what a floozie bimbo...
at first i thought, heck she's one hell of a bizwoman - you know, you give me your money and i'll give you my body.
pure biz.
but she made remarks about plain janes snaring wealthy handsome hunks.
she asked why?

she must be a real bimbo. her looks sure dont match her cerebral make-up.

what a dimwit.

has it ever occured to her crap-filled brain that those wealthy guys are seeing beyond the boobs, buns and false eyelashes.
could it be that those plain janes have great personaility and are even greater in bed.

go read a book, sister!

Hi princessjournals, kc, zawi, witch's broo, mat salo, daphne,
Thanks a lot for your comments and visiting my blog. Thanks for all your comments. But truly I like her gumption. Right or wrong is not the issue. Its a trade whether its morally right or wrong is not the question. She knows what she wants and puts a plan of action to get it.
