One Shot At Life

Last week I walked into a bookstore in KL Sentral just to look around. One book caught my eye and I immediately bought it. The title of the book was 'You Get One Shot At Life..Aim For Success'. The Author is Aaron Lumpkin. What a powerful title. I wonder how many of us really understand the power of that statement. Robin Sharma has a different way of saying this. He said, 'Life is short. Don't play small'. I've experienced this many times in my life. The last was last year when I first started in my new business venture...Herbalife.
I was in KLCC that afternoon giving out flyers pertaining to the business I was in. As I was engrossed in distribution, a lady approached me and asked, 'Are you Tony Gayondato?' It was Datuk Marina Mahathir, daughter of our former Prime Minister Tun Dr.Mahathir. I was stunned. Embarrassed maybe. We used to work together many years ago.
We got into talking and as we talked, I could see over her shoulder, my colleague, my up-line actually, gesturing to me to hand Marina a flyer. I didn't. At that time I thought I would embarrassed her (Marina) by doing that. You see my flyer says among other things, 'We are looking for serious people who wants to earn extra income'. Our conversation was short and brief. We parted. When she left, Jessica, my colleague asked me, 'Why didn't I hand Marina a flyer?' As I thought about it, I agreed. Why didn't I? Though Marina may not need extra income (I'm guessing here), she and her family sure could use Good Nutrition 'cos that was the business we were in. We are in Health and Nutrition. A few months later it was reported her father, Tun, was admitted in Hospital for a heart condition. He's ok now. But he sure could do with good nutrition for energy and vitality after his hospitalisation. I had one chance to introduce to Marina about my product of good nutrition. But I didn't. I'll never know when I'll see Marina again. The last time I heard from her was when she visited my blog when I first started it. What would have happened if I had talked to Marina about my products and good nutrition? Would she have bought? Would she have rejected it? You see, I'll never know. Because I did not take the one shot I had when it was presented to me. I hope I get a second shot, a second chance. At least then I'll know.

Tony, you may have not taken that one shot but I know another opportunity will come along for you. Someday, somehow.

when you find the correct path for yourself, the universe really does conspire to help you progress along the way. You can overlook a few coincidences, but when coincidences happen every day, your journey becomes a magical voyage and all you can do is be thankful, live every moment to the fullest and seize the day...

Tq Mr Shanghai for the tip. But you see Shanghai, if I go to NPC because you pre-empted me that Marina would be there, than I would be a salesman chasing after customers. I'm NOT a salesperson. I've done away with that the day I left my last company. I'm a Proud Herbalife Distributor. We share from our hearts..our Products, our product results, on how the products have changed our lives and an opportunity to get healthy and improve our financial situaion. If I meet Marina again, it must be from the attraction that the universe has drawn us together. Of course I could call her and make an appointment. That would be a good option as well. So Mr Shanghai, I sincerely thank you from my heart for your spontaneous gesture. Only good and sincere friends do that and I've Always considered you a good and sincere friend. Cheers bro and lets go and seize the day.

Tony, I guess 'anonymous' missed the point.
Thanks for dropping by my blog and leaving such lovely compliments. I am having a slight bout of writer's block at the moment. I will be back with more as soon as I can gather some thoughts and put it down in writing.
Oh yeah! love the Elvis touch.
